Business Manager's Report – M. Follett

-     Membership Engagement Committee – New website is up and running.  Postcards have been mailed to all members encouraging them to login and register on the website.  As an incentive to increase registration, all L.U. 2150 members will be entered into a weekly $50 drawing.  If the individual whose name is drawn has already registered on the website, he/she will win $50; if not, no money will be awarded.  All stewards and officers need to register on website and, in turn, have the members they represent also register on the website.  To register, log on to www.ibewlocal2150.org, go to the member login area and click on “not registered yet?” and establish a user name and password.

-     Discussion scheduled today with We Energies to discuss open enrollment and numbers for 2017.  If members encounter difficulty with open enrollment, contact the union office.

-     IBEW International Vice President contacted locals within the Sixth District asking for local union financial support of upcoming elections.  L.U. 2150 said it would not commit any funds.

-     Greater Wisconsin Fund Donation – As a result of the membership vote conducted at union meetings during the months of August and September, 60% of the voting membership voted in favor of the $15,000 contribution.

-     Badger-Coulee Transmission Line – L.U. 2150 is working with Henkels & McCoy/ATC with regard to permitting by the Army Corps of Engineers for eight of the project segments.  To date, work has begun on only one of the segments.  The segments are grouped together as one project and permitted as such; delays in permitting could result in a lack of work for L.U. 2150 members until the work/entire project is permitted by the Army Corps of Engineers.

-     2017 Standing Bills – Listing for 2017 is not yet complete for membership to vote on.  Anticipate it to be ready in November, with membership voting on it at December/January unit meetings that are not membership appreciation meetings.

-     Line Mechanic/Lead/Troubleshooter Bonus – No progress has been made, but L.U. 2150 is continuing to pursue with We Energies a replacement of the bonus in 2017.

-     Plan to establish bargaining committees for both We Energies and Waukesha Electric/SPX before the end of the year and anticipate regular communications with the respective bargaining committees and members prior to contract negotiations.  Expect to use the website extensively for negotiations communications.

-     All members are reminded to watch out for your own safety and the safety of your coworkers.

President’s Report – B. Stone

-    Elections – Members are reminded of the need to do research and vote.  In an effort to Get Out the Vote, L.U. 2150 is looking for volunteers to help with phone banking to fellow L.U. 2150 members.  The event will be held Thursday, October 27, at the AFL-CIO office (6333 W. Bluemound Road) from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.

Vice President/Safety Liaison – J. Zauner

-     Attended the National Safety Council/IBEW Safety Caucus.  It was very encouraging to hear where L.U. 2150 is as a safety culture and believe L.U. 2150 is a lot farther along than other locals.
