Milwaukee Labor fest Details

We look forward to seeing you on Monday morning!

Here are the details for participants in our Milwaukee Area Parade and Labor Fest activities on Monday, 9/3/18.

There is free parking for all attendees in lot P which is near the Marcus Amphitheatre end of Summerfest grounds, near Polk St. Park your car before the parade then use MCTS buses as they will be operating shuttle services between 8:00 to approximately 10:00 that morning between Summerfest grounds back to Zeidler Park, which is near the start of parade route. 

IBEW Local 2150 will be staging for the parade on 4th St., facing north, between Clybourn St. and Everett St.  

T shirts will be distributed to 2150 registered members and family members/guests who are participating/walking in the parade on front steps of Annex between 10:00 to approximately 10:45 after which we will be getting in position for the start of the parade kickoff  at 11:00.

There will also a bus from MCTS, parked at 4th and Wisconsin Ave., for parade participants unable to walk the length of the parade route which is wheel chair accessible.

Local 2150 will be represented in the parade by our members with family members/guests along with 5 We Energies vehicles.

For members bringing kids, we have candy available for “sharing” with the spectators along the parade route.

Once you arrive on Summerfest grounds, there will be many activities to enjoy and CELEBRATE LABOR.

There will be Live music, Union Industries information booths/area, Classic Car show on north end of the grounds, Bingo for adults, many activities for the kids: arts and crafts area-staffed by MPS volunteers, Castle bouncy house, face painting, balloons, free kids raffle, wrestlers and bucket truck rides provided by We Energies and Hooper personnel; $1 donation-money will be donated to Repairers of the Breach a daytime shelter in the Milwaukee area. The adult Harley Davidson raffle drawing will be at 4:45 pm

Kids need to be present to win for their raffles, drawing is at 3:15 p.m., but the winner for the Harley raffle does not need to be present to win. If you haven’t already purchased your raffle tickets from a 2150 committee member/steward, they will also be available for purchase on the grounds on Labor Day.

There will be a number of food and drink vendors. Local 2150 provides a given number of food tickets to parade participants and those who committed to volunteering to assist with the bucket truck rides; operators as well as volunteers to help kids into harnesses, up the stairs, collecting money, etc. so hope you are all either walking in the parade and/or have signed up to be a volunteer. The bucket truck ride volunteer schedule will be communicated later today. All food vendors accept the food tickets or cash/credit.

Labor Fest continues until 5:00.

Also, 

Labor Community at Work, in conjunction with United Way of SE Wisconsin, is also kicking off their annual sock drive for MPS and other area organizations on Labor Day. 2150 members who bring a donation of new socks will receive 2 free food tickets. Collection box will be in same location as T-shirt distribution in front of Annex.
