Remembering Micah

One year anniversary of Micah Gifford’s death.

One year ago today, Micah Gifford died while trimming trees.  Our thoughts and prayers go out to  Micah and his loved ones left behind.

The following, painfully submitted by Stephen and Annette Gifford, Micah’s parents, needs no explanation:

"Micah was a good son, father, brother, fiancée and friend.  One of his friends told me that when he called Micah for a ride, Micah’s only question was, “Where can I pick you up?”  Many of you as his friends know what I am talking about.  He was my first call and his brother was his first call.  We were and are that close as a family.  That is why it’s so hard to describe in words the pain of our loss.  The support from our union membership has been heartwarming.  We want to encourage the union workers to work safely and look out for each other like brothers and sisters in order to ensure that your families would never have to go through an experience like this.

Finally, I want to express that Micah’s faith and the promise of John 3:16 has been our true comfort and hope".

Brian Smith, who worked with Micah at the time, recently reflected:
